Spring Conference
Sharing horticultural knowledge is one of the main objectives of Master Gardeners. Since the Wood County association was formed in 2003, we have had at least one community conference every year. We invite speakers on lawn care, rainwater
harvesting, using native plants in the landscape, tree maintenance; subjects that concern the local home gardener. This gives the community the chance to hear, and more important, ask questions of experts and specialists in various horticultural fields.
2010
Held March 6th, this year's program was entitled "The Buzz About Our Environment - Saving Water...Saving Bees".
Speakers Dotty Woodson and Bobby Etherton treated us to informative and interesting information on water conservation and all about bees. Attendants came away with a new understanding and appreciation of both subjects. A variety of vendors tempted us with wares ranging from plants to jewelry, fabric art, gardening crafts and tools, and homemade treats tempted our sweet tooth. The annual spring conference is geared for the new gardener as well as the seasoned farmer.
