The next training class will start in January 2011. Classes are held weekly through April. During the first year fifty hours of volunteer time are required on community projects. After the first year twelve hours of volunteer work and six hours of continuing education are required to maintain certification.
Your training will include: plant growth and development; how to determine soil, water and fertilizer needs; entomology; environmental horticulture; vegetable and herb gardening; lawn care; home fruit and nut production; propagation with hands on work shops; botany; rainwater harvesting; field trips and guest speakers.
